I enjoy working with textiles and creating things of beauty from fabric waste and old textiles .I am inspired by the beauty which surrounds us , travel, humanity and my work as a medical professional. I hope my artworks are uplifting and ‘happy’, as I try to focus on the positive aspects of life. I have had no formal training in art, but enjoy using my free imagination and heart! I am a retired hospital consultant and enjoy being a professional speaker on fabric art and promoting textile sustainability, as I am very passionate about recycling and upcycling of old textiles, so they don’t end up in landfill sites and cause environmental pollution. I was very fortunate to have been awarded BEM ( British Empire Medal) in King Charles birthday honour list in 2023, for promoting fabric art, sustainability and charity.
