Bee Worsfold

I am a self taught textile artist. My first dealing with fabric was when I was a teenager . I used to hem clothes for my sister who was a dressmaker . When my children were younger , I used to make clothes for them from ‘cloth kit’ packs . When I retired from teaching , I started sewing again. I went to an amazing quilt exhibition one day in Hylands house about 8 years ago . That got me interested in patchwork and quilting . I enjoy taking photos of nature, drawing ,painting and origami. I like to explore different techniques and style from attending workshops , Pinterest and through experimentation . From then onwards , I combine my painting and the occasional dyeing before machine and hand embroider my pieces of work. My art quilt is mainly on landscape , seascape and flowers . I like to work on small pieces of work no bigger than A2 . My speciality is postcard size . I’ve also experimented with felt for my background and cyanotype print As I am keen at origami and fabrigami , my new interest is to combine some of that into my textile art quilt .
