ERTF Conference 12 October 2024: 3-D Bojagi samplers with Magenta Kang

ERTF is delighted to welcome member Magenta Kang who will give a presentation ‘From Cathedral Windows to 3-D Bojagi’ explaining how she has developed some of her techniques.  She will bring samples to hand around.

Magenta’s workshop will focus on making Bojagi pieces and she will supply kits of the necessary materials. Your resulting pieces won’t be as big as her full-sized lanterns but will demonstrate the technique and enable participants to construct a mini-lantern.

Please note that this workshop will be limited to 20 places.

You can take a look at Magenta’s lovely work HERE

The fee for the workshop includes a pack of materials for the day BUT participants must each also bring:

  • a small cutting mat (Magenta has five she can lend out if needs be)
  • a small sewing kit (needlework scissors, small needles, nothing special)
  • a small ruler 6 or 12 inch.
The kits included in the fee will each contain fabric and instructions for three small pieces – starting with a simple one to learn the techniques, and then working up to a small lantern project.

Magenta will also be bringing samples of the more complicated lanterns and will show how the simple techniques are combined to make these.
