Janice will be joining ERTF members to give an interesting and popular talk covering the influences on her work, including Japanese and African techniques and her MA work. She will then follow this with a new workshop entitled ‘Little Pieces of Africa’ in which members will experiment with 12″x6″ pieces that can be worked by hand and embellished with embroidery. Her approaches can be transferred easily to other materials.
Members will have a choice of purchasing a pack of materials directly from Janice (including the written instructions) at £10 per member or bringing their own fabrics and thread. For those wishing to bring their own materials, the list is below.
Whether you are bringing your own materials or purchasing from Janice on the day, please also bring:
Hand sewing thread in a neutral colour
Sewing kit to include needles, pins, sewing and embroidery scissors.
Assorted hand embroidery threads in colours to complement your African fabrics or in African Colours.
