Sue Blackburn

I have been passionate about textiles since childhood. 

I am primarily a hand and machine embroiderer but have always experimented with materials and techniques.

I like devising my own methods for doing things. I use a variety of surfaces for stitch,including hand-dyed or painted fabrics,hand-made felt, Trapunto quilting and melted synthetics. 

I produce mainly embroidered wall panels with some free standing pieces. I also enjoy rag rugging.

Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world and my desire is to keep exploring.

I have exhibited with ERTF, Babylon Gallery,Ely and Art Unequalled.
